Frequently Asked Questions:
- "Does anyone have extra room in their boat? We have 15 members going and a boat that holds 10."
We were hoping to hear of these kind of situations and coordinate early. Most of the boats are about the same capacity, so we expect to make multiple shuttle trips as needed. We also have the potential of a large work boat that we could use to haul the "stuff" and then use our boats to haul the people (especially nice coming back when everything may be dirty and wet.) Please coordinate with your chief, the Nation Chief, or Pat Miller (Chinook Chief).
- "Are we all bringing our own food?"
The plan is for each tribe to coordinate their own food. This also implies all of the gear that goes with preparation, but there is the option of the salmon dinner at Tillicum Village for those that prefer it (other side of the island).
- "Where are our campsites located?"
We are planning on camping on the northwest corner of the island, and will have an "advance" team going over Friday morning to "grab" places. See this Blake island map.
- "Are there any scheduled activities or meeting times that we should aware of?"
No scheduled activities - with the logisitics of getting there, the afternoon will probably be free-form, but it would be fun to do something in the evening...
- "Any recommendations on what to bring?"
Tent(s), sleeping bags, food and food prep equipment - whatever you need to survive for one or two nights, but of course, constrained by the fact it all needs to be hauled over there on small boats.
